What Is Dropsy in Fish?

Dropsy is not a disease itself but a symptom of organ failure, most commonly kidney failure, usually caused by bacterial infection.

The prognosis for dropsy is unfortunately poor, especially in advanced cases. However, fish caught in the early stages can sometimes recover with aggressive treatment.

Signs of Dropsy in Fish
