How to Get Rid of Drain Flies in Kitchen

Drain flies — also called moth flies or sewer flies — are small, fuzzy insects that breed inside the organic slime lining your kitchen drain. Unlike fruit flies, they don't come from your produce. They come from your pipes.

How to Identify Drain Flies

Drain flies are 1–5mm long with fuzzy, moth-like wings held flat over their body when resting. They're usually gray or tan and move in short, erratic hops rather than flying smoothly. You'll typically find them resting on walls near the sink or on the drain cover itself.

Confirm the Drain Is the Source
