The honest answer: you can dramatically reduce cockroach activity overnight, but complete elimination of an established infestation takes longer. Here's what you can realistically achieve in 24 hours — and how to set up a treatment that delivers the fastest possible results.

What Happens Overnight

Cockroaches are nocturnal. They're most active in the 2–3 hours after lights go out, foraging for food and water. This makes nighttime the best time to treat — roaches are out and active, making contact with bait and treated surfaces more likely.

Step 1: Deep Clean Before Treatment (Evening)

Before placing any treatment, remove competing food sources:

• Wipe all counters and the stovetop thoroughly
• Clean under and behind the refrigerator and stove
• Empty and clean the trash can
• Wash all dishes and put them away
• Store all food in airtight containers
• Fix any dripping faucets — cockroaches need water nightly

Step 2: Place Bait Stations Strategically

• Back corners of under-sink cabinet
