Everyday Cleaning After Use

3. Sprinkle generously with baking soda
4. Pour boiling water over the silverware until submerged

Polishing Silverware

After cleaning, buff silverware with a silver polishing cloth to restore shine and add a protective layer that slows future tarnishing. Polish in long strokes following the grain of the silver, not in circular motions.

Is Silverware Dishwasher Safe?

Sterling silver should never go in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and heat accelerate tarnishing and can pit the surface. Silver-plated cutlery is also best hand washed. Stainless steel flatware is generally dishwasher safe.
