How to Clean a Yeti Tumbler

Keeping Your Yeti Tumbler Clean and Fresh
Yeti Ramblers are built tough, but coffee, tea, and smoothie residue still builds up inside over time. The MagSlider lid and gasket are particularly prone to trapping residue and developing mold if not cleaned regularly. Here's how to keep your Yeti in top condition.
What You'll Need
- Dawn Platinum Dish Soap
- Bottle brush with long handle
- Cup lid gap cleaning brush set
- Bottle Bright cleaning tablets
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
Daily Cleaning Routine
- Disassemble the lid — Remove the MagSlider magnet piece and the gasket from the lid. These parts trap residue and must be cleaned separately.
- Wash the tumbler body — Add dish soap and warm water, scrub inside with a long bottle brush.
- Clean the lid — Use a lid gap cleaning brush to scrub the lid opening, MagSlider channel, and all crevices.
- Scrub the gasket — Remove and scrub the silicone gasket separately with a brush and soapy water.
- Rinse all parts thoroughly and air dry with the lid off.
Is the Yeti Tumbler Dishwasher Safe?
Yes — Yeti Ramblers are dishwasher safe. However, the MagSlider lid should be hand washed to preserve the magnet and gasket. High heat can degrade the silicone seal over time. Hand washing is always the gentler option for extending the life of your Yeti.
Deep Cleaning: Bottle Bright Method
- Fill the Yeti with warm water and drop in one Bottle Bright tablet
- Soak lid parts in a separate bowl with another tablet
- Let soak 15–30 minutes, shake gently, then rinse thoroughly
Removing Stains and Odors
- Coffee/tea stains: Baking soda paste scrub or Bottle Bright soak
- Odors: Fill with equal parts white vinegar and water, soak 30 minutes, then wash with dish soap
- Mold on gasket: Soak in undiluted white vinegar for 1 hour, scrub, rinse thoroughly
Cleaning the MagSlider Lid
The MagSlider channel is a common spot for residue buildup. Use the smallest brush from your lid gap cleaning brush set to scrub inside the channel and around the magnet. Remove the MagSlider piece and clean both sides.
Final Thoughts
The Yeti Tumbler is easy to maintain with a daily bottle brush wash and weekly Bottle Bright soak. The key is disassembling the MagSlider lid completely — that's where most residue and mold hides. Always store with the lid off.
